It is tha name of the greatest Top Contributor there ever was here on Y!A and quite a handsome man too if I might add. The name and concept became so famous that it was eventually used as the basis for a skit on Saturday Night Live. It was one of the funniest skits of the modern post-Akroid, Chase, Curtain, Newman, Belushi, etc. era of SNL. Stil and yet, the person who is known here as "I need more COWBELL" still remains a humble, small town sex symbol and an inspiration to all those who know him.

"More cowbell" is an American pop culture catch phrase originally derived from an April 8, 2000 Saturday Night Live comedy sketch about the recording of the song "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult. The sketch featured guest host Christopher Walken as music producer Bruce Dickinson and Will Ferrell as fictional cowbell player Gene Frenkle.

My mom~Jessie's Girl by Rick Springfield; apparently she was obsessed with this song when she was younger, and she still loves it... My dad~I can't remember the name... it was a song in French, and my dad went through a French music phase; it was all he could play, non-stop. My former best friend~The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin, or perhaps Two of Us by the Beatles. And a certain bit in Ten Years Gone by Led Zeppelin. I miss him terribly... There's a lot more to the Rain Song than him for me, though... Contacts: Dances in the Doldrums~How Many More Times or In the Light by Led Zeppelin, and a few songs by Van der Graaf Generator. First off, those are her two favorite songs, and second, she introduced me to Van der Graaf Generator. And thank you, yes, my obsession with the Rain Song *is* unhealthy, but at the same time, very healthy... that probably doesn't make sense... Beatlesmaniac~Let it Be by the Beatles because I'm pretty sure her favorite lyric is, "And when the night is cloudy, there is still a light that shines on me. Shine on 'till tomorrow, let it be." Vicky~Lycanthia by Ordo Funebris, because if I recall correctly, she mentioned that in one of her answers, and I looked it up, and it was really good... And then there's all the ones like I Can See For Miles, the Great Gig in the Sky, and so on... *OOPS, when I first wrote down Lycanthia, I thought Silver mentioned it because it has a wolf howl in it, but now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was Vicky that mentioned it.

The skit with Christoper Walken on SNL where he says "I gotta have more Cowbell" to Will Ferrell where he is playing a member of the Blue Oyster Cult. One of my all time favorite skits on that show.

OMG !!! I know JUST what ya mean about it being funny. BUt I have seen the Cowbell skits from youtube. It is CW and WF TRYING to be funny, and the ONLY funny thing is CW....I keep thinking of the Bob and Tom show with ummm The Guy who wants to date Darryl Hannah from the ORIGINAL Grumpy old men. He's actually GREAT at Impersonations, and he does a PERFECT CW.
