I was called to jury duty but all of the cases were settled and so no jury was formed. Pretty much the first thing the judge told us during his introduction was that the courts pull jury candidates out of the DMV records and not the voter registration records, and that this was a common misconception.

Yes, I was on a jury for an attempted murder case...it lasted 5 days, there were 14 different counts against the guy and he was found guilty on 10 counts. We even had DNA evidence at this hearing. the guy got jail time, I think he got 12 years, but they counted his time in county, so he did less than 12 years. It was a great experience.

Yes! A murder trial. The guy was still plunging the knife into the other guys body when the cop came in and some people still had "reasonable doubt". It's amazing how you all hear the same testimony and come to completely different conclusions

In 1994, I was selected as a juror in a vehicular manslaughter charge. Drunk man, 45 killed a 19 year old lacrosse player from NC.

He was convicted and is serving 25 years in prison.

I felt honored to 'play my part' in this case. Since then I have been called twice, once in county court and one federal court case and got excused both times.

than go for lunch and we'll call you if we need you. The cases
