I usually just rip off the wrapper a little, eat that, then rip off a little more. When there's about 2 inches left, I take the whole wrapper off and eat the rest.

Same here wrapper off, lick all 4 sides..then nibble around the edges to the center. LOL

Well, there is no right or wrong way to eat an Ice Cream Sandwich, bro. If you chucked the entire thing in your mouth, wrapper and all, and gradually worked the wrapper out of your mouth while humming "Beat it" while hopping on one leg, thats your perogative, dude.

I like to lick the outside and bite into it.
I have a funny story:
My cousin was at an ice-cream social with his dad. He never had an ice cream sandwich before, so his dad asked him if he wanted one. Then my cousin said begrudgingly, "Oh all right. But do I have to have it on wheat bread?" completely seriously.

take off the wrapper, then eat from the top down. if it's melty, i lick the sides.
my friend eats her on a plate with a knife and fork---she doesn't want to get her fingers dirty. (personally, i think licking your fingers when you're done is the best part!)
