Looking for solutions for a bedroom in my house that does not get much heat. I am looking for something besides a space heater that would effect my electric bill so much.

If you have a Costco card they sell a heat dish that is so great. I have one and have used it for the last 3 years. It puts out so much heat and I sometimes move it from room to room. It will pay for itself by saving elect. the first year that you use it. Cost around $50.00

In real life an electric heater is the only option. A propane heater is illegal indoors. Fireplaces and so forth need a chimney or vent pipe. Adding radiation (even if your fuel burning rate supports added radiation) is not going to be a quick job.

If you get an electric heater that uses 1000 watts per hour that will cost you fifteen cents per hour. If you set its thermostat to go on just when it gets really cold that is a few dollars a week.

If it is a bedroom that gets cold at night get an electric blanket that uses 1 kWh if you kept it on all night so there is fifteen cents per day.

They have space heaters that are more energy efficient now. My parents bought an energy efficient one for their kitchen since it tends to stay cold with the tile there. The only other thing I can think of is sweaters, sweaters, and sweaters! Also, if room has wood or tile floors, consider a rug. It holds the heat in better.

Edit: I think my parents have the heat dish that someone described. I second it. It works great!

install a radiator, baseboard or a hot air vent depending on your heating system....without that, a space heater is your only option, unless you want to use a few more blankets
