My boyfriend's ex moved over the weekend, phoned to let him know 5 days later. Gave no notice to anyone. They have an agreement that they have joint custody and my boyfriend has his daughter over 45% of the time. His ex moved 500km away. Does anyone have an experience with this in Ontario? We have tried going to the police and he has been told by court that he has to wait until Friday (1 week after child moved without notice) to talk to duty councel.

Tell him to go to court immediately, and they will make her move her pretty little as* back to where he is, or tell him that he can now file for full custody because, she has kidnapped his children. The courts will handle it, and she will have to answer to them. keep your head up, and tell him that as long as he keeps his children in mind all will be ok.

The same thing happened to me when I was younger. My father would try to move us (even to different states sometimes!) without even informing my mother and on short notice - even for us. This is NOT acceptable, as all decisions are to be made together when concerning the child/children.

He needs to take her to court.

no longer something. In Ohio there aren't any rules on the concern of visitation rights... it would want to in difficulty-free words count number number if the daddy had joint custody. the daddy might want to be able to do something if she strikes extremely some distance away yet in basic terms crossing state strains isn't sufficient. as an instance he might want to get a courtroom order that she has to deliver the youngsters to him for another visitation era or pay for his holiday.

Since they have joint custody, she's violated the custody agreement. He can get her for kidnapping if she doesn't return the child as per the custody arrangement. Tell him he should try for full custody as he'd probably get it since she's done this. But for sure get an attorney.
