Need help with this problem:
Trailing by two points and with only 2.0 seconds remaining in a basketball game, Amy takes a jump shot at an angle of 60 degrees with the horizontal giving the ball a velocity of 10 m/s. The ball is released at the height of the basket 3.05 m above the floor. She makes the shot.
A. How much time is left in the game when the basket is made?
B. Shots made outside the semicircle of 6.02 m radius is worth 3 points. Did amy make a 2 or a 3 point shot?

since the ball release and basket are at the same height the ball makes a simple parabolic arc with downward accel = g = 9.8m/s
vertical velocity = sine60 x 10 (velocity) = 8.66
time going up x 9.8 = 8.66
time going up = 8.66/9.8 = .88
time in air = 2 x .88 = 1.76

horizontal distance = time in air time x cos60 x 10
