An ice skater coasts across the ice, moving very nearly without friction in a straight line at constant velocity (1st law). She then digs her skate into the ice and changes her motion into a beautiful spin (2nd law). And at all times the force she puts on the ice is equal and opposite to the force the ice puts back on her (3rd law).
