We think the towel went down into the pipes. When he replaced seal and toilet a few days later we heard this "bloop! bloop!" in toilet. The water is slow to go down in toilet and slow to drain out of sink in that bathroom. When we run shower, we hear the "bloop! bloop!" The pipes have mega leaked in basement when the bath water has drained. The "bloop!" can be heard when running kitchen sink. The main pipe under the bathroom in the basement has been snaked with a 25' and 50'. Also called plumber who used 100' snake. Was fine for a week or so, but now the "bloop" is suddenly back! I heard the "bloop" earlier tonight when flushing toilet in other bathroom. What is going on? What is the reasoning behind the "bloop"? Can anyone help? I want to call plumber again, but husband is mad and doesn't want me to!

Trust me- I am the one who wants to call someone and get them here!

I sounds like the towel is still stuck in the pipe. If all of your drains and toilets are running slow and you're getting a leak in the your basement pipes, the blockage is somewhere between there and the street. As for it working for a while after the plumber ran the 100' snake, it's possible that all he did was push the towel to one side of your pipe and now other things have gotten hung-up or the towel got caught on something like a root and is blocking the pipe. It may be necessary to have someone come out and route it out.
If your pipes are pvc, you could try to cut the pipe to see if you could at least determne where the blockage is. It's not pretty but it will save you some money. Also, if you have an access point to the drain line in your yard, you can check that to see if you could at least narrow down the location of the blockage.
Also, if you do narrow it down to the towel is hung-up somehwere going out to the street, you could try to treat the line with some copper sulfate. This will clear small roots out of your drain line. If that's the problem and you get lucky, it may free-up the towel. It's a long shot but easy and cheap. You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot in the plumbing dept.

The sound you hear is the plumbing system attempting to vent, wherever the towel has lodged it is preventing the air from reaching the vent. Find the last fixture on the line that works properly, find the first fixture that doesn't, the towel is between the two. To simplify, you don't call a plumber to clean drains, you call a drain cleaning service and they should pull the toilet and snake the line with a retrieval tool. Your problem is going to get much worse and could cause serious damage to your home. Furthermore, if the plumber did not correct the problem, he won't know unless you tell him, this is not fair to his reputation.

You have a main line blockage again. I would call the plumber back and I'm sure he will be happy to honor his warranty. These things happen even with the best plumbers, and that's why we give warranties. Ask for a different tech if you are not confident with the guy that came out. If I get a call from an upset customer I go out and fix it myself. This gives me the chance to check my plumbers work and uphold my reputation.
fyi for the comment below. Roto Rooter is actually a plumbing company with licensed plumbers. They also employ apprentices for drain cleaning and have massive overhead. Now would you want an apprentice with 2 months experience for $185 or a licensed plumber that has to have about 4 years to get his license for $100? Roto Rooter does not have any magical drain machines either. They use the same machines as most plumbers - Gorlitz,Spartan

You really need to get that towel out of the drain. The plumber who came out should have been able to snag it.
If it's affecting the sink and the tub, it's likely far enough down the pipe that snagging it from the toilet isn't going to be easy.
Call the plumber again.

There should be a place in your pipes either in the basement or under the house. There is a main line opening there for a professional to come in and run their snake through. It sounds like it almost all the way through the pipes in your house but it is to large to make it to your septic or sewage system. In our area we have Roto rootor and Kington plumbing and septic. These companies have long snakes not like a plumber would have.

WOW!!!! the noise you hear could be water getting past the dish towel. i lost a wash cloth the same way, but luckily for me i never had any problems. you might have to remove the toilet to see if the towel is stuck in the trap in the toilet. they have a closet auger with a 5 ft wire on it. you could try this. they have them at Lowe's for about 30 bucks. i have a gut feeling that you will have to take the the commode up. . good luck.

I suspect that bloop you hear is that towel letting water past it. I believe that towel is caught in one of the bends in your plumbing. Run a snake in your clean-out, or down your roof vent for the bath.

If you received a bill, it should have the labor and materials listed. Were you not there when the work was done? If it is just the seal and collar (whatever a collar is) it should not have been 2 hours. Call the company that did the work and inquire.
