It was the anniversary of the day when a Christian Army under the command of Polish King Jan Sobieski stopped the forward advance of Turkey's Muslim Army at the Gate of Vienna. The attack on London's transit system happened on the anniversary of the day the drunken British Foreign Secretary sat in a private club in 1922 and drew up the new map of the Middle East.
