If you are going to grow carnivorous plants then you need to do it right from the start. You can keep them outside in full sun or in a terrarium, but I recommend that you not keep them in thier origional container because their roots need room to grow and there is not enough air. Also, if you are going to keep them in a terrarium then make sure you do not put the terrarium in direct sunlight. What a lot of people do not know is that carnivorous plants do best outside in the open air and in full sun. They are cold tolerant up to 20 degrees and actually need to be winterized and go into hibernation in order to do well next season. If your temps drop below 20 then you can keep them in an unheated garage or garden shed. If you keep them in a terrarium then you can force them into hibernation or dormancy and I will give you the site that explains how to do this. As for watering, carnivorous plants are bog plants and their soil needs to stay moist all the time. If you grow them in a terrarium this should not be a problem, however, if you grow them outside in a pot you will need to place them in a saucer of water and make sure you keep the saucer full at all times. As for feeding them, check out the expertvillage video I've included and it will answer all your questions.
carnivorous plant NoNos:
No meat of any kind. Meat rots and it will kill them
No fertilizer of any kind. Pot carnivorous plants in a 50/50 mix of peat moss and perlite only.
No straight tap water. Use filtered tap, aged tap or distilled (preferred)
Things to not be concerned about:
VFTs will lose their trap after it has digested the food.
VFTs die back over winter so don't throw it away. In the beginning I tossed out a couple of VFTs before learning this fact.
Here are some sites that will help you with just about everything you need to know about growing carnivorous plants. Good Luck and have fun.

They are swamp plants, it is best to keep it in a terrarium and keep it damp so it has the proper humidity. Do not feed it hamburger or dead flies. If you can catch a few flies and put them in the terrarium with it, it will catch its own. Don't tease it by poking things at it just to see it close its traps, that isn't nice, besides if you do that too often it will lose its ability to catch flies.

at the same time as i changed into little, I had a venus fly catch. I loved it for sure. yet being a newborn you extremely do not understand a thanks to look after flowers okay. yet mine survived. I stay way down south in Louisiana, and it really is continually warm right here too. the in difficulty-free words element I did changed into feed it flies and in some circumstances, at the same time as i concept the plant changed into thirsty, i'd supply him a touch mist of water. It labored for me, and at the same time as it were given kinda chilly at evening (very not often), i'd in basic terms deliver it interior with me until eventually the subsequent day.

they are hard to take care of, I wouldnt bother with them in the first place.
You would need some difused water, you could feed it pin head crickets. But they dont say " Venus fly trap" all year, its just in the spring. they hibernate during the winter months.
If you already bought it, You probably keep it for a month. then it withers and dies......
Sorry, I stick to cacti and aloe myself...
