I drink a cup of milk practically every day in hope of becoming taller, my sister and brother are tallish but I have another brother who is like 5''3. Is drinking milk going to help at all??? If not what will, I'm not interested in getting shots to postpone my period or make me grow.....

Thanx!

It will help.

How much? Difficult to say. Maybe a few inches at most.

Vitamins (in normal quantities) may help. (This plus calcium is the reason milk does help)

Swimming may add another inch over a few years: the weight gets distributed oven the entire length of the body while in the water, therefore vertebrae get a tiny bit further apart while in the water (less verticl pressure); if you exercise while in the water, the muscles that form may help sustain part of the extremely tiny distance added between each vertebra. Takes time.

This is a common misconception due to the brain washing campains of the dairy farmers of America. Milk does not cause bones to grow it is actually the oposite. Humans are designed to reject milk, this is why many people are lactose intolerant. The toleration of milk is a mutation. We cannot break down lactose, and when the body rids of it, it gets rid of many of the necesary calcium that your bones need. Milk does not help you get rid of fat, you apear slimmer due to drinking milk because you lose bone density. Height is a highly genetic correlation as well as environmental, there is not much you can do about it without the help of hormones which have many side effects that make it more harmful then helpful. Calcium does not make your bones grow, remember your DNA is what decides were it is going to go, just because you consume a lot of it, it does not mean your bones will grow. They can just deposit along the shafts, but don't forgett that too much calcium is bad for you and can cause clots. My suggestion is to come in contact with your height or buy some heels.
