I bought one last Christmas and it was red and I have had it for a whole year and now its all green(the petals). I read in a magazine a while back that there is a way to turn it back red but I forgot how. Does anyone have more detail on that and please hurry I want it red by Christmas.

It may be too late for this year. The plant needs special treatment for two to three months before blooming again. This means you need to start the treatment in late September for Christmas bloom.

However, this is how to do it. Keep the plant in total darkness and at about 20C (68F) from 6pm to 8am every day for 8 to 10 weeks. A few minutes of light during the night or missing a night will ruin the process. You can put it under a cardboard box, in a root cellar or in a closet for the night.

It will need bright light during the day and fertilizing.
