Would disabling Java in one's browser ensure some degree of added security? Could one enable Java in say IE7, while having Java disabled in Firefox? Is there a chance of 'cross-contamination' in such a configuration?

thanks

You need Java Script to run IE7 correct without problems. They are seperate. So keep Java installed in IE7.

If SunJava as a flaw they will download an automatic patch to correct the flaw. (I have Jave installed in my own pc).
