Almost all banks now issue debit cards, often in cooperation with Visa or Master Card. It's used just like a credit card, but the money is deducted from your bank account -- sort of like writing a check, but it can be used on-line. You can also get pre-paid cards lots of places, essentially created as gift cards. Hey, who deserves a gift more than you do???

Get a Green Dot Card. That is what my brother uses....

I saw a commercial for prepaid visas...but I don;t currently know where they sell them, maybe walmart? i have seen them offered in check cashing places before. Good luck!
