I know it probably sounds dumb, but who are some insane authors? The kind that really make you think?

E.A. Poe and H.P. Lovecraft are at least marginally insane in my opinion. Both brilliant, though.

Hunter S. Thompson, although he was probably more of a journalist than a writer.

From some of the tales I've heard, Hemmingway had to be out of his gourd.

Kafka, who clearly started his own genre called kafskaesque, had to have been off his rocker.

I agree that Stephen King needs to be someplace in an I-love-me jacket.

And the writers of modern horror movies, who keep repulping the same idea; boy meets girl, they play hide the chalupa, and get killed by some undead oger, which causes a terminal case of coitus interuptus. Those guys are positively, irrevocably, right 'round the twist.

Stephen King has got to be insane to come up with his books.
i stopped reading his books a long time ago......too weird!
