The Great Society concepts relied upon action by the Federal Government. Action by the private sector was much more effective.
Corporate America opened opportunities for minorities faster and more effectively than government could edict. Equality and personal freedom are more tied to job creation and market expansion than legislative or judicial decrees. Likewise the "War on Poverty" is better served by job creation and economic stimulation from the private sector. Employers generally provide a great deal of vocational training and occupational education lacking in the school systems. They also support medical insurance that for the great majority of the citizenry beats any socialized medicine scheme.
Your Great Society had the goal of splitting the common good more equitably. Corporate America has increased the common wealth for all.
