It all relates to psychology. Men are so int rested in butts/breasts because men unconsciously see a woman with these qualities fit to nurture children even though we may not realize it. In reality, there is nothing that we could really do with breasts, but according to our unconscious needs, we think " man, this girl can totally nurture my child" I am not too sure about butts but we still like them.

Large breasts indicate high estrogen levels.
Big round butts indicate wide hips suitable for giving birth.
Both are visual cues that instinctively attract us for mating purposes.
Why are women attracted to broad shoulders and prominant jawlines? Similar reasons, they indiciate good health and high testosterone.

Men evolved to like big breasts for the same reason we like small waistlines -- Those traits are an indicator that a female has certain hormones that make her fertile. Understand that men dont want to make babies, they want sex. But natural selection has favored men who want those women who are most fertile.

in all seriousness, i can't tell u. it is the way we are programed, lol.
i really try not to stare, but even being aware of it, I know i still do.
Here's a counter question. why do women dress provocatively, showing cleavage and complaining about it, tight around the butt and showing it off? I'm serious, not being ugly. I mean i enjoy it, lol, but it is frustrating for women to come into my office everyday, w/ cleavage enhancing wardrobe and lean over my desk wiggling it in my face and they probably complain when my eyes stray.

i guess were born that way. it just automatically gets us. not all are just obsessed with butts or breasts, it can be lips,feet,legs,hair or even the smallest detail on the female that you or i might think its weird. its allcrazy.

I often wonder the same thing. Don't see the fascination with big butts and big boobs. A man should be satisfied with his wife's breasts.

ANd many straight/bisexual men are, likely, because they don't have breasts of their own and , ofcourse, it must be rather odd to grab your own butt every time you feel like you need to :).

For the same reason women like cocky/funny/physically strong guys who they believe (subconsciously or not) to have the ability to protect and support them and their children. Attraction isn't a choice, it's a very primal instict, no matter how sophisticated we get. *Oh and I am straight by the way.*
