I moved here to go to school. But there aren't even bars where I can meet other gay men. And I mean just on the the level where I can have a friend I can have something in common with. How can I find other gay men. I'm not into parks and just really want some friends.

It's hard in a small town. I'm originally from a small town of 1800 people and thought I would be single for the rest of my life when I lived there!
I live in a major city now and LOVE it! I find that a lot of gay people from small towns usually travel to the nearest big city to meet gay people.

2. Gay-straight alliances at your school.
3. Unitarian Churches often have gay support groups.
4. AIDS prevention programs often will target men who have sex with men by sponsoring parties to educate the men about safer sex techniques and precautions.
5. Go to Meetup.com, and look for a gay get-together through them.
6. Go to your school's counseling program and ask what possible social events are available locally.
7. Find the nearest big city's gay newspaper. They often have posted listings for even distant groups.
8. Yahoo groups often has local gay groups associated with schools or small towns.

If you discover the secret you could bottle it up, sell it, and make a fortune. This is one of the hardest things to do in a place where everyone knows each other's business and such. In this small town, nobody uses turn signals. That is because the other drivers already know where you are going.

I am surprised that nobody mentioned the simplest and most effective solution: Be open about your homosexuality (at least among friends) and the word will spread like a wild fire. You will get some dirty looks, that's for sure but ALL the guys in that small town will be YOURS! They will start introducing themselves to you.

probably have to go the nearest club, maybe close to your city. or check on the net for places to meet people. Sooner or later you will see someone. They are here (in my small town) they just try to stay hidden...only i have gaydar...lol
