Yes. Nope. I was 15. I struggled for years to quit smoking. I smoked from the beginning of the day to the end, regardless of social events, usually two packs a day of either Winston or Marlboro or Camel filters. Smoking and drinking go together like stink on sh!t. I wanted to quit for quite awhile before I finally succeeded. I quit for good over 25 years ago. I quit cold-turkey when the cost of a pack of cigarettes in a cigarette machine (something that doesn't exist anymore, at least in the U.S.) got up to a dollar, and haven't touched a cigarette since.

First time I tried a cigarette, I was 9 years old and I found one of my mom's MENTHOLS and grabbed my 6 year old brother and went into the bathroom and lit it up.... I SHOULD have taken a cue from our reaction to that cigarette and NEVER EVER picked up another cigarette... Unfortunately, I did... 35 YEARS later and I have 2 TERMINAL SMOKING RELATED DISEASES...and I am only 57... I wish I had NEVER even picked up my first cigarette BUT, I picked up my very LAST one just a littl over a YEAR ago.......!!!!! (the day I found out I was ill.... had no clue or symptoms before that day)...

I had a couple puffs when I was in like 8th grade, but that's the extent of my smoking career. I inhaled enough second hand smoke from my father during the first 17 years of my life that I'm sure I don't need to add to the health problems I already earned!

yes. because of others older than me saying I was to chicken to smoke.
stupid ya..........smoked for 30 years too. Quit for 8 now.
Please don't start and tell anyone that says some crap to you like they did to me about being too chicken to kiss your a*s!
I know alot of people read this stuff........some of you are kids and you haven't been smoking for very long. It is a very hard habit to stop..........but if your an adult still smoking and you have insurance that will cover the cost of this or just plan old money to cover the cost.........to help you stop go to the doctor and ask them to perscribe you this..."Chantix" its a pill you take twice a day. It's very good and alot of people have used it and have stopped smoking.
Just don't start..........it is a disgusting habit, your clothes smell bad, your hair smells bad, your breath smells bad from it. If you smoke in your car the inside of your car gets tar all in it and on the windows.........same thing happens when you smoke in the house.
But much more importantly.....all of us are quit aware of what it will do to the human body!!!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha HAHA!
Sadly, yes. I had my first one this July. AND IM 27! How could I start at 27? Well, to put it simply, stress. Lots of it, as follows:
Difficulty transitioning into motherhood after working for 12 years.
Husband has severe gambling problems
Husband has severe fidelity problems
Husband totalled 2 new cars, cant get a loan for another because his gambling issues f*cked our credit.
About to lose our house because his gambling money is eating up our mortgage money.
Finally decided to leave my husband. It was the hardest decision of my life.... besides really deciding to really quit.

Yes, I have smoked a few cigarettes. I used to enjoy an occasional cigarette, back when it was legal to smoke in bars.

I was a smoker for about ten years. Quit cold turkey about 35 years ago.
Why did I start? Temporary stupidity coupled with peer pressure.

Yes, stupidest thing I ever did. I started because someone told me that he "better not ever catch me smoking". It was my boyfriend and I just HAD to show him he wasn't my boss. Wish now that he had crammed it down my throat. I would have never touched another one.
