I am laughing when I type that. I usually don't type lol, unless something is funny.
But there is also Lots of Love.

I am really lol now cause I know all the above reasons are so for me too but to simply put L won't look very good. Might even seem insulting to some. Couldn't put G for grinning or A for amused or CaL for chuckled a little. Guess sticking with lol is probably for the best. lol
Edit: If you looked in on me while on Answers you would see me laughing a lot. So many funny, witty ppl, you guys are a roit.

Actually sometimes I do laugh out loud, but anyone within earshot knowing I was alone would think I'm a psychopathic lunatic. Other times the lol is just a courtesy laugh...LOL!!!!!!

I'm sorry but i only lol when I can't think of what to say and it helps a lot in tight spots. >_< I LOL when something make me smile and LMAO when I am really laughing.

I have distinguished my laughs. An lol is just something I type. When I'm typing LOL this means that I smiled. If I type HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAH, this means I actually laughed.

It depends if it IS really funny or you don't want to hurt their feelings, if they think it's really funny but you don't and so you act like you really LOL. You know? But otherwise you put LoL if you really are Laughing Out Loud. But depends.

well I have to admitt.. most of my lol's are self heard chuckles.. like laughin inside or amused , and or smiled @ what I said or read.
