Everyone has great suggestions. I spent a week here once for a total of $80.00. That is for food and tips. Many ways to get around for free and the food is still cheap if you are careful. Eat a late lunch, which is cheaper, than a dinner. So many free things to see and do. Stay away from the pricey shows and look for free or discount coupons. Join all the gambling clubs. Some give good coupons just for joining.

Stay away from people on the strip asking if you are going to be there for another night or if you want free show tickets. They are timeshare sales and you don't want to be bothered unless you have several hours to waste. High pressure sales too. But if you want some free tickets ... it's your time.

Like one person said ... budget for each day you are going to be there. Put each days budget in an envelope or paper clip. Take that envelope out in the morning and use that amount only. When gone .. back to the room until the next day. If you have money left over then you can add that to the next days amount.

Just relax and have fun. Take everyone advice above ... enjoy.

I live in Vegas and work on the strip. First bit of advice, I wouldn't gamble for the "free drinks". You can go through $20 on a nickle machine in an hour on a bad streak, and get one or two "free drinks" in that time period. Hit the sportsbook, bet the horse races for 1 or 2 dollars a race, and drink there! The service is usually better, and you won't lose your money as fast. Cheap drinks and food can be found at Ellis Island, on Flamingo and Koval. There are tons of free shows to take in, such as the Bellagio Fountains, The Sirens of TI, etc. Fremont street is always a good bet, especially on the weekends when the free live bands are playing. Use the Deuce bus....it runs 24/7 and you can buy an all day pass for $5.00. Finally, if you are going with your significant other, take advantage of the time share promotions. Do one in the morning, and get your show tickets/buffets/cash for free! However, shop around a little if you're going to do this, some offer better gifts than others, and some take longer than others. Avoid the free slot play they offer...it's a total rip-off. Finally, take a day and go see the Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam. You can take an all day bus tour for under $100, including meals. Again, shop around a little....don't buy your tour in a hotel, go to the little booths around the strip and find the best deal.

Here is the deal.. the flight and hotel are paid for.. that's awesome. But look at where you are staying, some places are really close to the 'happenin' part of vegas, if this is the case, you can walk to the places you want to go. If not, you will have to pay for a cab, those can get pricey.
As for gambling, you could survive on $100 bucks.. just play it safe. You will get served free drinks while you gamble, so that's a plus. But if you lose/win money, make sure you save some tokens. Don't be the guy who loses all his money in vegas, at least be smart about it and keep a 'stash pocket' for your tokens you win. Eating can be pricey.. I would bring 20 bucks a day for that. there are some cheaper places and that will cover breakfast lunch dinner.

Good luck!

My husband and I came back from Vegas to the UK on the 13th November,it was our first visit and we were there a week so I can only give you info on what we spent.
We ate breakfast at around $15 for the two of us,we tried a few buffets at $40 for two and ate in various restaurants at prices ranging from $60 to $100 for two, check the prices in the hotels. You can get burgers Subs and Pizza, drinks are cheap or expensive depending where you buy them, but we don't drink a lot.
We took a taxi to Freemont street and back but we could have used the Deuce and were charged £20 each way.My hubby played a little on the roulette and I played the slots and we saw three shows on discounted tickets that you can buy on the strip at Tickets Tnite. We had an absolute ball and bought a few presents and we spent $1200(£600)
We did the Grand Canyon by plane ,helicopter and boat which was awesome but we paid extra for that $329 for both of us.You can eat as cheap or expensive as you like, see plenty free attractions just walking round the hotels and you don't have to spend a lot gambling.
Hope you have a great time,we did and we are definitely going back!

I've been to Vegas twice and didn't spend a lot of money and I had a great time. Get a shuttle bus to/from airport. It was only $12 round trip. You can get an all day bus pass for $5. We ate breakfast at Denny's across from the Mirage. There are lots of free things to do: Habitats at some of the hotels, show at Treasure Island, Fountains at the Belliago, Volcano at the Mirage, light show downtown.....lots of stuff. We found $2 beers, 99 cent margaritas, a buffet meal will really fill you up....just kind of shop around. We got show tickets at Tix For Tonight (think that's what it's called) at discounted prices. I recommend checking that out. There is such a variey of shows and price ranges. M&M World was pretty cool to see. We went into a lot of the casinos to check out the different themes. We got some of our souviners at a little shop across from the Mirage. Very reasonable prices. We also found some nice stuff downtown for decent prices. Check out lasvegas.com. I used that to get an idea of what our food expense would be. It lists all the different places to eat and breaks it down by prices. It also lists all the attractions at all the different hotels. It tells you if it's free, what the costs are and the different times things are open. I'm not a gambler so I didn't spend a lot of money and I had a really good time. There is so much to do there. Hope you enjoy your trip. Wear comfortable shoes!!

Depends on your lifestyle. I can't get through a couple days on less than $1000, because the good shows are so awesome, but are $150 a ticket. There are a jillion great restaurants, but of course they are going to be $100 a meal. I don't do buffets (they are $15-30 anyway) and I don't do 99 cent hot dogs. Some of the most high-end shopping is right there, like the Forum shops at Ceasar's, but even a coke is like $8 walking through there. So stick to the older, downtown parts. You may find 99 cent shrimp, but don't expect it to be good. There are no more $1.99 buffets or prime rib. Vegas has really changed.

There's alot of free stuff to do in Vegas but if you're gonna go you really should have money. Here's a list of free stuff in Vegas and cheap eats.

Cheap Eats

Rachel Ray also did $40 a dy in Vegas and Mr. Lucky's was mentioned.... I've had it and its good but you have to ask for it.

Also you get drinks for free if you gamble in the casino, get a cheap watered down one, then tip your waitress, make quick friends and tell her you wish it was a little stronger, all this while at the nickle or pennies slots!

Have Fun!!

Free things in Las Vegas - entertainments, gambling, shuttles, etc.

Always sign up for the casino's player's club cards. If they don't offer you a page or book of coupons ask them if they offer them. You might get BOGO coupons or free offers. Usually the smaller older casinos offer them. Downtown visit the Fremont Tourism. They offer coupons for the casinos, restaurants on Fremont.

Do a lot of walking on the strip but catch the DUECE bus to Fremont. Have exact change. $2 each ride or $5 unlimited 24 hour ticket.

I won my first trip also. I'M HOOKED !!!!!!!!!!

Have fun.

What hotel are you staying in? when are you going? a lot of hotels have 2 for 1 coupon books, ask at the front desk.. also look in the local papers... you can usually find coupons there also.

My first trip, i was on a pretty tight budget as well, but we ended up findin lots of cheap places...

slots o fun (next to circus circus, is super cheap.. i think 1.50 beers, 8 bucks for a 48oz margarita!

also Osheas (next to imerial palace)

casino royale

ellis island (its behind ballys) is awesome! they dollar drafts and a steak dinner (with salad, potato, veggies and bread for 4.99!

we also spent a good bit of time downtown. its WAY cheaper than most of the strip. you can get a freemont street coupon book on the 2nd floor of walgreens, next to the parking garage.. theres a bunch of 2 for 1 coupons in there (i love the 2for 1s lol)

a lot of casinos give you free slot play when u sign up for a players club card. signin up is free..

dont take cabs, they get pretty expensive, the duece bus runs 24 hours and you can get a 24 hour pass for 5 bucks.
