November 4th, 2008 Since senate elections are held every two years and senators serve for 6 years, one third go up for election each two years. You state may or may not have a senate seat up for election that year.

The senate elections are held every two years. Since the last one was in 2006, the next one will be November 6, 2008

About a third of the senate is up for reelection every 2 years. Senators who were last elected in 2002 will be running again in 2008.
