A day to honor all the Veterans in the US. It was first set up after WWI to celebrate the Armistice that occurred on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The end of WWI

It is for all Veterans not just those who served in Wartime. WE need the services in peace time as well as war time. These folks still give up years of their lives in service to us.

world war one ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, It was referred to as remembrance day......but changed later to honor all americans veterans who have proudly served this great country

This is because WWII (i think) ended on the 11th month of the 11 day on the 11th hour.

that's when the cease fire went into effect, ending combat between opposing forces involved in world War One.
