Wat is the function of the embryo and how it is formed?

From the moment an egg and sperm combine, the resulting cell is called a zygote. As soon as the zygote divides, it is referred to as an embryo. It keeps that name until about the eighth week of development when it is then called a fetus. When it is born at least a few months after that, it is called a baby. I suppose its purpose is to get to that end point, though fewer actually do than most people think.
