lot,explore the unknown and in some cases as punishment.

The poor Europeans moved to the New World to improve their quality of life. Economic hardships and oppression were the main reasons. The ones who were well off stayed like the English, French and Spanish to name a few. Everntually the Germans because they lost two World Wars and had nothing. Hope this helps.
