I am in a dispute with my bank of a bounced check that I cashed. I decided to leave that bank and open a checking account with a new bank. My old account is in the negative 200 dollars and I am disputing this with all my force of life. If I refuse to pay, can they put this on my credit report? Thanks in advance to any shared knowledge. Thanks.

I have to agree that arguing with bank over $200 dollar is waste of time, energy, and worst of all, damaging to your credit.

UNLESS you have an indisputable record, (which obviously you don't....), and unless you can put some legal force behind you, such as hire an attorney, you, an ordinary citizen, "putting all force" will not change anything. Bank has records on their system to back up their claim.

I'd pay it and end the suffering.

It will eventually go to collections and then you have even less chance to make it right.

That will most likely effect you later on in life. It probably will effect your credit report and your credit line. It's only 200 dollars, just pay it off. You might even be accuring interest on that debt.
