Shan, yogurt was another one I had to learn to like. A friend of mine made it look so good, but I just didn't like the taste. I kept giving it a try.

Oysters, they look like ovaries and are gritty. I am still not sure I like them honestly, fried they are fine, but raw?????

I am with Lady G on scotch, wow, it was shocking to my taste buds, I thought it would be like butterscotch....and it sure DOES NOT.

Collard greens, I am working on it. Was a shock when i thought it was spinach. I thought I was being poisoned, LOL

I don't think I'll ever acquire a taste for Brussel Sprouts , you can have my portion.

I had to acquire a taste for squash, all kinds of squash. Love it now one of my favourite veggies.

Haven't acquired a taste for sushi yet either, bad experience about 18 years ago cured me.

I love mango. But the first time I ever took a taste of it, I didn't realize there was that funny, oily taste to it. Now I know to expect it and after the first couple of bites, it's gone.

Also, you don't get this taste in canned Mango, only fresh.

People always told me Scotch was an acquired taste. My answer is the same - if it's awful, why would I want to acquire a taste for it?

growing up I absolutely hated green olives, now I could eat the whole jar by myself if the salt content wasn't so high. there are foods also that I loved as a child that I would never eat now, pigs knuckles, pickled herring, homemade egg nog and homemade mayo because of the raw eggs.

Spinach was something I wasn't used to eating and after a while I learned to love it. Now that's all I use for a salad. Sort of funny how that works out.

Yes brussel sprouts for me as well. My mum used to make me sit there till I ate them all. It took years before I ever ate them again.

Seafood. I've always disliked it but knew it was good for me so in the past 5 years or so I've been trying to eat it. I don't care for crab or lobster but can eat a little whitefish.

Artichokes. My parents loved them, so I was raised eating them. I hated them at first, how the ends of the leaves poked me, and how hairy they were inside, but my parents loved them so I kept eating them. Now I've learned to handle them correctly and cut all the hair stuff out, thank goodness, and now they're my favorite food! :D
