These are chain rule problems. The derivative of ln x is 1/x, so there's your starting point:

1. d/dx ln (x^2 - 2.1x^0.3)
= [1/(x^2 - 2.1x^0.3)] * (2x - 6.2x^(-0.7))

2. d/dx ln [(3x + 1)/(4x - 2)]
= [(4x - 2)/(3x + 1)] * [(3x + 1)(4) + (4x - 2)(3)]/(4x - 2)^2
= (12x + 4 + 12x - 6)/(4x - 2)(3x + 1)
= (24x - 2)/(4x - 2)(3x + 1)
