Politicians are a lot of things but dumb is not one of those things. How many times have you heard one say that they "want to speak truth to power?" They mean, speak truth to those IN power (them self) without acknowledging to the people that WE are the power - and yet they ignore us and the best interest of this nation by explaining away our concerns and pretending those concerns don't exist. P.T. Barmam wasn't dumb either, but his mentality was that "there's a sucker born every minute." We're a nation of suckers and our elected leaders know it!

Seems that way as there seems to be a very lax mindset amongst many Americans that we can let someone else take care of our problems.
They complain that they cannot stand a politician then when voting time comes they are too lazy to go out and make change but are the first to complain. That is just plain dumb.....

What do you mean "we", kimosabe? Seriously, though, there are still some intelligent individuals, but collectively speaking, you're absolutely right. About half the population is even more stupid than Bush and that's why the bottom 30% still think he's the greatest President ever.

only the people that believe them. If you let W fool you and STILL buy his lines, then you are stupider than he is. Same for all the other politicians.

To be elected you only have to be a little smarter than the people who vote for you.
Look who is president.
You tell me.

No.
No one could be dumber than the Draft-Dodging Coward Bill Clinton.
(He wasted his presidency having fun & games.)
Polls in 93 showed that both men & women that voted for him, did so because he "sexually excited" him.
NO ONE IS SMART WHEN SEXUALLY EXCITED.
Me neither.
