I just spoke with a physician today myself about getting on to the pill. Not only does it make your periods more regular if you have irregularity, it makes periods lighter, reduces cramping, reduces acne... etc.
It is also possible to take your birth control pills continuously there are no risks or side effects with taking it continuously and you won't have your period.
Talk with your physician, about birth control options that would best suit your needs.

Yes, the pill does help for a lot of ppl. It helped me with those symptoms. And you know when to expect your period when on the pill. But go to your gyno and talk to them about it and they will decide whether it's right for you or not.
