Does wool or nylon or anyother type of thread have a chemical formula if so what is it?

Wool and silk are made up of amino acids strung together in a protein. There is no definite chemical formula. Nylon is of two kinds. The first is a polyamide of adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine:

-(CO-CH2CH2CH2CH2CO.NHCH2CH2CH2CH2CH2CH2NH-)x-

The second is from aminocaproic acid:

-(NHCH2CH2CH2CH2CO-)x-

Some threads are made of cotton or rayon. These are made of polymers of glucose in a particular chemical bonding to make cellulose.

Other threads are polyester. This is a polymer of terephthalic acid, HOOC-C6H4-COOH, and ethylene glycol, HO-CH2CH2-OH.

Still yet other threads are acrylic, made from polyacrylonitrile, -[CH2CH2(CN)-]x-

Nylon has a chemical formula...it is a polymer, which means that it is made up of the same chemical chunk/formula repeated over and over into a long chain.

the basic unit is here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Condensation_polymerization_diacid_diamine.svg
(the n in the diagram means that is the repeating unit..so if you wanted to know what the strand of nylon looked like, you copy that chunk in brackets thousands of times and paste them beside each other into a long chain)

Polyester is another synthetic thread that hasa chemical formula..google it for a good picture

EDIT: note, there are many types of nylon...the one shown in the picture is a general picture...the most common nylon is nylon 6,6 i believe, which means the R' group is 6 carbons, and the R is 4 carbons

Nylon does because its man made from chemicals.

The forumla would be difficult to find though because there are several different ways of making nylon, and each would have their own different formula i would assume.

nylon is a polymer, so it has a definate chemical formula found in the link below.

Well first of all it's not your bird. And secondly, how long are you watching it for? It would be more ideal if you had them in separate cages, seeing as it is not your bird and to prevent any fights that could occur between the two. Your bird shouldn't become depressed about the other leaving if it's only a short time. If you decide you want another then buy another, don't try to take his.
