It should be illegal. Maybe not on par with treason, but definitely worth vacating an elected officials post. The whole concept is asinine at face value and is not supported by any common sense, much less the constitution.

They probably shouldn't be listening to lobbyists, at all. But, if you're going to allow lobbyists, you prettymuch have to let anyone with an interest lobby. So if Toyota, for instance, is trying to get a plant built somewhere in the US, they might lobby to get it pushed through over the EPAs objections or some such - just as an American company in the same situation might do.

No way, Foreign interest abroad and capitalistic interest at home take precedence over what is best for the American people. Prescription drug manufacturers, HMO's, Oil companies, and defense industries all throw money at greedy politicians in the interest of making a select few people rich, while the rest of America is left suffer the results of policy that is lobbied for.

In that book Outrage by Dick Morris, he has an entire chapter on that and it is amazing how much they get in money and whose kids and family are lobbyists. Shouldn't that be a conflict of interest if their family is pushing stuff on them? You know that is not right and on the up and up. They should change that, but never will. It took them 10 yers to get me a raise! good question. Take care.

Lobbying should be illegal and Lobbyist should be jailed. Politicians that are seen with lobbyist should have the crap beat out of them and then be given their walking papers. Corporations who pay lobbyists to influence politicians should be fined and double taxed.

No!!! But it's all about money and how much someone can pay to get their "product" noticed. Whether it's cigs, health care, the environment,or us, people...the one with the most money to make themselves notice are the ones that get heard most....so much for equal opportunity.

Heck no. Lobbyists get paid to say what they believe in. They should do their jobs and listen to the people who elected them.
