Why did the OJ simpson case verdict receive so much of attention?

I believed the fact that oj as a black man was letting go of killing a white woman was the reason why it was such a big case. Had it been a white man who killed nicole orr he being found notguilty would not have been such a big deal. How bout the racist redneck who burned a church in alabama killing 4 black teenage girls. Why wasnt the american public as outraged and angry.

well as far as outraged we are ,in the case of the girls . the difference between thetwo is simply oj claims money and we all know what money can do it haspower and the public eyes on it and where it goes its sad but so true.

Because OJ Simpson is a celebrity. Why did the picture of Britney Spears getting out of a limo without panties create such a stir and make nation wide news? Same reason, she is a celebrity.

Are you talking about the incident in the sixties? You seriously believe things are still that bad. OJ received so much attention because he was a beloved sports legends by people of all races and ages, and he was so obviously guilty. Do you honestly believe he didnt do it? Race was involved... the jury was racist (assuming that all cops that are white are racist and out to get blacks) and let him get away with murder.

He was an enormously popular and famous athlete. A real celebrity. And he was accused of viciously stabbing two people to death. How could it not have received a lot of attention. I don't think race had much, if anything, to do with it. Imagine Derek Jeter accused of stabbing 2 people to death. Do ya think the media would pay attention?
