Im also 5 days late and have taken a HPT but it turned out neg.

The urine tests at the doctors office are exactly the same, and manufactured by the same mother companies as the home tests you can buy. THey are more like the early results tests, as they detect less parts per million than the regular atleast-a-day-late tests.

The early tests however still will not detect for 50% of women until theyre late for their period.

A blood test done by a doctor is far more accurate than a home pregnancy test. The urine tests done by the doctor are usually the same as the ones done at home so there isn't much difference. They both test for hcg levels and a positive result has a hcg hormone level of 15-25 mIU. So yeah, the urine tests are the exact same in accuracy.

No the home pregnancy it accurate if you are far enough along. The blood test the doctor can do can be done earlier though.

i was told by my doc. they are the same if the hpt detects the hormone early like first responce does ......he said the only difference is who's doing the test at the doctors they know the right way lol
!!!

The tests they use are teh same as what you buy at home.

nope...the urine test are like the ones store bought.
