Yes. It happens. You start out young with an open mind, and then your brains keep falling out, and then you loose a piece of brain because someone stomped on it while it was dragging along behind you, so you close your mind up to keep everything in.

I use to be when I was dumb teenager, but maturity and mental growth changed me so once I became 18 an went to college I learned more things about everything.So I am more open -minded on things.
