Work is product of the force applied and the distance along which the object has been moved by that force. The keys are (along or parallel!)


a. W(in)=Fs= 100x10=1000 J

b. Mechanical advantage
MA= Effort out/Effort in=500/100= 5:1

c. W(out)= w h= 500 x1.5= 750J

d. Efficiency= W(out)/W(in)= 750/1000= .75
or 75%
