Most likely your power steering belt fell off. It also could be that your power steering fluid level is low.

All The Above! Noise Was/is Power Steering Pump Going Out! Smoke From Fluid From Blown Hose(s)! With the Belt is bad too, Replace!
Guess Maybe $150 to $250.

Open the hood and look. If, you have several belts then you should see a pulley without a belt. Most times the steering pump on the driver side of the engine down low.
If, everything has a belt to it then the power steering hose be the next thing to check. The hose may have busted and you lost fluid.
If, all the hoses are good, then the pump may have gone out.
I not sure of your car. May figure $50 for a rebuilt pump and then labor to install. About $50-100 for labor for a ball park guess.

Same thing happened to me, I popped the hood and saw thousands of strands of rubber strewn all around the engine compartment. This is becuase my serpentine belt, that runs the power steering as well as other things, snapped. This was a quick and easy and affordable fix.
Hope this is what is wrong with your car, and nothign more serious.
Tips, look for a missing or shredded belt, if not that then check your power steering fluid.
