It depends on how successful you are.

Lawyers usually have to work their way up in a big firm, over a long period or time, start their own practice, or leverage other expertise to get a good corporate gig, before seeing a lot of money.

Entry-level engineers make good money, but hit a pay ceiling unless they have their own companies, are principals in an engineering firm, or go into management.

The top-paid lawyers probably make more than the top-paid engineer. If you're asking about all law school grads vs. all engineering grads, the engineers might have the edge.

Don't pick your career based just on potential salary - averages don't really mean anything - and those careers are very different, so pick what you want to do.
