I believe that Abbie C pressed the enter button at least twice after the first two paragraphs, or rather the first two sentences, and labelled the exceptionally long part “Long story...” so we would know that the following was a very long story about how she started smoking cigarettes and why she wants to quit! Ouch! I haven’t been spanked before but I doubt that a bare bottom spanking is very enjoyable! I’m sure an open hand would sting your *** enough (I have been slapped across the face before) and a wooden spoon seems cruel. Hopefully it was an empty threat because, I may have failed high school physics miserably but, a spoon seems more aerodynamic than a hand and could probably strike with a greater velocity and leave some awful whelps on your ***. It might hurt to sit down after that whipping; I would risk another drag if my *** was on the line (lol). I more concerned with the fact that your mom made you chain smoke sixty-seven cigarettes because that seems abusive. But hey, I think your mom might have done you a favour! Her punishments discouraged you from smoking; Smoking cigarettes causes all kinds of nasty health problems (from stained fingers and teeth to lung cancer). My advice: I’m not sure what it’s called, but there is a medication available that, I’m quoting a smoker I went to high school with here, “makes the smoke taste bad.” There’s also gum and patches to help you quit if medication isn’t an option. Or discourage yourself from smoking by giving you behind a hard smack on the *** with the wooden spoon; make sure it’s hard enough to sting. Hopefully a single smack will remind you how much a spanking hurts and discourage you from lighting up in fear of having a whole barrage of smacks on your bare bottom. However, the ex-smokers in this thread said that quitting “cold turkey” was the best option; Since I’ve never smoked the ex-smokers’ advice probably weighs more.

yes but it is rare. My mother smoked about 10 years then quit BUT she didnt start until her late 30s. I think ppl that start young, like myself, are doomed to struggle with it forever.
I have smoked 20+ years and quit 4 times... 1 - 6 months, 2 - 4 years, 3 - 4 years, 4 - 2 weeks (current)

It is. I quit and I wasn't just addicted, I LOVE to smoke. Be prepared to gain a little weight and maybe get a script for Chantix (try not to drink on it). I remember thinking I would never get out of the habit of wanting to have a cigarette every hour or two, but after a couple of weeks, you'll wonder how you ever remembered to have one.

I quit Nov 15, 2001 (6 years tomorrow)
and still haven't touched a cigarette.
You have to be strong and committed to not smoking again.

my uncle did the exact same thing. He quit for several years and then started back, I was so upset.
My mother quit though and she never smoked again, so I do think it is possible to quit.

Yes! After attempting to quit several times over the years, I finally succeded by using the prescription Chantix. It did not work as well for my husband, but you must have the desire to quit otherwise nothing will work...

I think its possible. However, I think its extremely difficult.
Smoking is an addiction and you never quite cure an addiction - you simply deny it or find other ways to deal with it. Each day is a battle not to fall back into the addiction, so its possible but very difficult.

I have quit. And restarted. I know plenty of people who have never looked back. But I am not one of them YET. You have to WANT to quit honey.
