I don't get it either, kid, especially considering the only ECW a majority of these marks have seen has been on DVD, in WWE PPV's, or the little glint of it they caught flipping through the channels 10 years ago. Seriously, ECW went out of business for a reason, because nobody watched it. I'm not going to blame the talent, although I use the term loosely in most cases, because it was entirely Ted Turner's fault for not pushing his product. TNN never ran commercials for ECW, as a matter of fact, up until THIS post I'm sure a majority of these little "extreme" marks didn't even know what network it was on.
ECW wasn't all about hardcore, if that were the case, CZW would gain a vicarious following, but too many REAL Old School ECW fans realize that hardcore wrestling was only half of it's charm. ECW brought in the attitude era, it brought fresh ideas to the forefront and pushed new styles of wrestling out of Mexico and Japan, stuff that most American audiences hadn't seen before, they also had good, textbook wrestlers like the future Radicals, the Impact Players, and briefly Chris Jericho. WWE's upheld the ideas behind the original ECW, and that idea is evolution. Paul Heyman's new vision of a shoot style staged MMA was deviated because of let-goes and injuries, but in it's place, the new independent style has taken over. Honest to God, outside of TNA and the defunct WSX, ECW is the only place you'll see actual new wave wrestling moves, or Japanese Strong Style maneuvers on national television. ECW is occasionally the best hour of wrestling all week long, and that's including TNA's broadcast into the equation. These psuedo-traditionalist wannabes need to get over the past or go watch their sought after blood bath in that sh!t stain in wrestling history that is CZW

There is NOTHING extreme about the WWE version of ECW. I agree it has more action than the other WWE shows but that is NOT saying much. I still do NOT call it ECW myself. I will always refer to this as WECW because it is NOT ECW.
As far as them having bettter talent I do not agree with that. I like CM Punk and a few others but they do NOT have enough wrestlers on the roster. There is only 13 guys listed as wrestlers for ECW. And sorry but Big Daddy V is nothing but a FAT @$$ joke. Matt Striker never actually wrestles anymore. Mike Knox and Little Guido (not that bleeping Nunzio name) do not get used much and not right when they do get used.
Elijah Burke John Morrison (who will job for some time now) and Punk are about the only 3 wrestlers they have.

I understand why people knock on ECW.
It is mainly because people expected the feel of the original organization created by Paul Heyman. But ever since Paul Heyman left ECW, the feel has changed, the roster has changed, and two unworthy people (Vince McMahon and Bobby Lashley) became ECW champion.
However, they are better than RAW right now, and that's because there is better (and sometimes more) wrestling, the storyline around the title is WAY better, and the younger generation mostly rules the show. The most negative thing to happen on ECW recently was Elijah Burke being depushed, and John Morrison and CM Punk wrestling each other too often. They still need a biggesr roster on the show.

It has up and coming superstars that is for sure but it does not have the original ECW theme like every match is extreme rules. I jsut feel that superstars who fail on other shows goes to ECW like the miz had no sucess in Smackdown and now he has a title shot? and Jamie Noble is a lowcarder and he main evented ECW this past week. I just feel that they should come up with better storylines and get soem more wrestelrs there. If Jeff hardy and Londrick get there then that wud be a great show since they are all about extreme and their young. They are also ruining great matches like The monster's ball and few weeks ago, they had it for like 5 mintues while other matches lasted way longer. I feel that they forget the good matches and just go with a random match to promote. Most of the stars are good but they are all new and young and talented and future of WWE but they cud get better. If only Benoit (RIP) stayed in ECW since he was suppose to train all of them but u know wat happened. They just dont have the thing that made the original ECW so great.

I agree that ECW is nothing at all like old ECW, but ECW is my favorite WWE brand right now. Like you said, ECW has more talented superstars. You can watch ECW and know that the main event guys (most of the time) have talent. Look at ECW's current champion... CM Punk. He has more wrestling ability than Randy Orton (WWE Champ) and Batista (World Champ)! And ECW has guys like Morrison, Punk, Burke, Thorn, ect. Although ECW does get the worst ratings, its the best. Oh yeah and not to mention ECW has less talking, and more wrestling!

Agreed!I know that it is way different that the old ECW but we can't tell that it is not good.At the beginning i have to admit that i didn't liked it but i watched it.Now it is much better and it has some great talents like CM Punk,Morrison,Elijah Burke,Thorn and more.
With the two things i disagree with the New ECW is that they got rid of the most great originals like Sabu,Sandman,RVD e.t.c and also the fact that they have Miz in title matches and not Tommy Dreamer which is one of my favs ever.
I want Dreamer to take a push and see him back in main events..He is a true legend of the ECW...

I can't watch a show that has the miz , johnny nitro and mabel as the top contenders. CM Punk is not charismatic enough to carry to operation. They need a Raven, an RVD, a Rhyno, a Sabu.
Specially when Tommy Dreamer's around. They should pay homage to the real ECW, and have Tommy get screwed out of the title every few weeks.
