I don't push them away but I do try to hide the fact that I need something, I have a very difficult problem asking for or receiving help!! I also don't want to bring them down with me!!

Sometimes. I find I do this with my family and tend to let my friends in whereas you would think you would push away those who are not *directly* related to you and allow those who are in. I am close with both though too, so it is not like I do not like my parents, siblings,etc.. I suppose maybe because my friends are on my same age level - so it makes explaining and connecting with them easier. Ironic huh? Cheers!

All the time. I need help, yet I don't know what will happen if I get it...I have a dark mind, never to be seen or known. Only a few of my friends even know my truth...1 that I can trust.

Most probably. As a student of human nature I see behaviors so counterproductive to achieveing what people really need. Ex. the gruff recluse really needing friendship and a sense of connectedness.

Yeah I do, although I am working really hard at learning NOT to. My new hubby just pushes back though, one of the MANY reasons I love him so much.

I push them away
not because of issues with trusting them or w/e
I hold feelings in I don't like to deal with the problems myself
I suck it in

I also push them away to see if they will keep trying regardless

I want to see if they care.
weird i know

Yes most of the time and it really sucks but in the end they usually come back and they are there for me just because they are all awesome like that

OMG! Yes. How'd you know. And I mean it is when I really, actually, absolutely do need them that I do it. Is this self-destructive or habit?
