I'm sure it is. Spitting is the most common, it's disgusting but some pissed off food servers go further.

A. I eat a lot of pizza and have never found crushed red pepper in my pizza. Though I do tend to tip well.
B. I worked at a pizza place in college and never saw anyone spit in or put crushed red pepper in a pizza, nor did I even hear someone joke about it. Thank god.
C. Crushed red pepper is noticable and will lose customers and point blame at the cook. I would be more concerned about spit from an angry delivery person.
D. I did bite into a rock once on a mushroom slice. That was one of the most shocking moments in my life actually. Totally unexpected and it hurt. I wonder if it was the delivery person?
E. Why don't you just tip better? Then you won't have to worry about this. A lot of these people live on tips and are providing you a service that really should not be free. Be fair.

i have worked in restaurants my whole life, i am 53, and started when i was 14. I have never seen or heard of anyone messing with a customers food. However, you keep seeing stuff like this on tv, that is supposed to be funny, ect and you will always find someone who will do it. Monkey see, monkey do.. i really dont think an owner or manager would keep anyone on that puts red peppers in a pizza, do you? After all, that customer would never come back again. There is too much competition in the restaurant business today to lose a customer because he doesnt tip well. Believe it or not, there are alot of people out there, that think paying for their food is enough of a financial burden. Is that fair to the waitress? No, but tipping is Not a fast and hard rule.

I worked a couple of years in a pizza place and I only saw that happen once. It was for the friend of a guy who worked there so it was not done for bad tipping it was more about a prank on a friend.
I have seen people spit in pizzas for people who did not tip well though.

It all depends on where you are located and how the management is. I work in a pizzas establishment now and we are very considerate to our customers. I deliver and not once have I ever seen any behavior of the sort. But if I did I would say something.

No, I worked in fast food for five years and a lot of my friends in high school and college did and nothing like that ever happened.

Wouldn't stay in business very long with all the employees in jail. It's a felony to mess with food!

i've never heard of that before. why would they deliberately put that in there to upset you because you "look" like a bad tipper...that would decrease your chances of getting a good tip if they were wrong. I don't believe that at all...
