Hi there all,

I need to send some money to a local branch of Union Bank Of India in India. I wanted to know If anybody has had any experiences with their service as I understand it is relatively new, not even a year I think since the launch of the service. The only thing stopping me is that they use timesofindia as the agent and their own direct service remit2india,com has had so many bad reviews. In fact I was going to go through remit2india until a sales rep called and harassed me into sending £3000. Which of course I didn't. Which then led me to check up on them and find the bad reviews.

I will be most probably go with ICICI but UBI sounds ok, I'm just not comfortable with them using timesofindia to do the work.

Any experiences and/or suggestions.

Thanks.

Paypal does not do INR. so that route is not really helpful for me. Thanks anyway.

safest ONLINE mechanism is PAYPAL.

Go to: WWW.PAYPAL.COM and register.

you can send money to ANYONE--person or bank or business as long as they have an e-mail address, and they handle just about every country's currency. I have been using them for several years with NO problems and they PAY INTEREST on your deposits if you sign up for the FREE money market account...current rate is 4.74 % per year. You do not have to keep any money there if you do not want to--just link to a checking account at your bank.
