It seems bad at first glance, but is that want not what drives us to be a better person and to improve ourselves??

I think the idea is to be the best "YOU" that you can, not try to be someone else. You CAN'T be someone else, no matter how much you try. you will always be "you". strive to be the best "you" that you can and you'll find contentment and peace

It depends on what you really mean by "being someone else". You aren't saying you plan to go psycho and take over someones personality and life? Right?

We're hoping you mean then to change your course in life to one that better suits the image you'd like to have of yourself.

There's nothing wrong with that at all. Success to you!!

It's fine to want to change. But that requires you to know exactly who you are right now. And the fact that you can change should tell you that you're not inherently anything or anyone in particular. Which also means that you can be anyone you want.

It is bad to want to mimic a person completely, however if you just want to improve one part of your personality/being then that is not bad.

perhaps a better way to say it is to try to be more then we are right now, to develop something else , rather then be someone else
we create who we are, we are now becoming who we will be, so its fine to want to be in another way,
