No. You are controlling a 3ton piece of machinery travelling anywhere upto 120kph, surrounded by other 3ton pieces of machinery (not to mention trucks which are much more) also travelling at great speeds. Reflexes, decisions, in such a situation require your full attention.

Not to mention that most people, whilst on the phone, tend to use their eyes and hands. Eyes and hands which should all be focused on the precarious task at hand.

It's a finable offense in Europe as it should be everywhere.

I don't think it is. By law you can it you are talking with somekinda ear piece or hands free accessory. That how it works in California.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it should be a felony. (yes, i'm serious). WAY too dangerous. when you're driving, then drive. no cell phone, no food, no drink, no reading, no putting on makeup, none of that!

No, it's not. It's illegal here in the Netherlands (unless you can call hands-free), and I believe they did enough research to prove it really is unsafe during the process of making that law, we don't have too many 'nanny' laws over here.

it's best not to. get a headset so you can have both hands on the wheel while driving while still talking on your cell...
