He had an especially perfect opportunity with the USS Cole bombing, since this was only proven to be al-Qaeda after Bush had already taken office....

At the same time Clinton actually DID take action, but of course this was only to distract from Monica right?

OK, I REALLY DIDN'T THINK IT WAS NECESSARY TO SPELL EVERYTHING OUT LIKE A WOULD FOR A SMALL CHILD, BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG...
---GENIUSES, WHY DIDN'T BUSH ACT AFTER HE WAS ELECTED IN 2000, FOR THE EVENTS THAT OCCURRED IN THE 90'S----

OR IS THERE A STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS FOR MURDEROUS TERRORISTS?

Bush didn't care about terrorism until he let it happen.

1. He blocked anti-terrorism legislation prior to 9/11
2. He lowered security at airports in the spring of 2001
3. He refused to come back from vacation when told that an attack was imminent.
4. He refused to raise security or take countermeasures when told that an attack was imminent.
5. He told the FBI to focus on "regular crime" instead of terrorism.

He is not alone. The Republican Congress blocked Bill Clinton's anti-terrorism proposals until 9/12. Then the Republicans took credit for them. If Trent Lott and the other Republicans had treated terrorism as a real issue rather than claiming that it was a "phony issue" as Trent Lott called it, then 9/11 would probably not have happened. Of course, the Republicans had more important things to do. Being Peeping Toms is always more important than doing your job and defending your country.

What action did Clinton take? Was it telling the CIA not to do anything when Bin Laden was in their sights? Oh I know it was going to Kosovo to stop the ethnic cleansing perpitrated by the Serbs?.... Well it wasn't going after Al-Qieda after the Embassy attack or after the cole or the first WTC attack. Clinton didn't do jack to stop terrorism. What he did do was let North Korea have their way everytime the threw a tantrum, not go after China when one of there spies was captured, and sold us out threw free trade and NAFTA.

And what did you expect Bush to do in the first 8 months of his Presidency? Kill Bin Laden? Would that have stopped the attacks on 9/11? Arrafat died and the Palestinians still attack Isreal so whoes to say one way or another that the United States could have prevented the attack.

Stop trying to blame Bush for Clinton's mistakes, there is a reason Sandy Berger got caught stealing material from the Clinton Administration concerning terrorism, he was covering up the fact that with all the information, oppertunity, time, and justification Clinton had to get Bin Laden and take down Al-Qieda in his 8 year term he did nothing.

Now I ask you what is worse, someone who acted late or someone who did not act at all.

President Bush was not president during the '90s,
Clinton was the president in the '90s. President
Bush was the Governor of Texas in the '90s and had no control of the US Government! The USS Cole bombing took place during Clinton's Administration!!

The Cole attack was in the fall of 2000. Clinton was President then and they knew it was Al Qaeda that did it. Clinton didn't do anything because since Somalia he was too afraid of getting bad press to put boots on the ground anywhere and go after them.

Actually Bush did take action.

Bush directed the terrorism czar,

Richard Clarke, to develop a plan to eliminate al quada completely.

That plan was finished on September 10th 2001.

What? Clinton was President all during the 90's. Mr. Bush was governor of Texas. He was not in a position to defend the US.

i've got in no way discovered why Bush did no longer knock down the Willis Tower (Sears Tower) in '07 or '08 so as to get his boy McCain elected. possibly Obama stopped him from getting his grubby mitts on the blueprints.
