I have a friend that swears that Rush the canadian band are true fundimental christian phophets? I have not studied the band that much but just from the lyrics of Bit-or and the Snow Dog is seems that the are quite the opposite.

They are good. Some of their songs refer to old mythology or tell stories, but there is nothing whatsoever that is evil or negative in their lyrics.

The basic tenets that they follow to me seem to be freewill (which was given to us by God), the balance of intellect and emotion, personal freedom with responsibility (as opposed to just doing whatever you want and not feeling responsible for the consequences). really my brother should answer this because he's a huge fan of Rush and knows them inside out having even read books written by drummer Neil Peart.

But if you are concerned, don't worry, they are not evil at all. Try listening to more than that one song. Try listening to the classic album 2112, inspired by Ayn Rand's novel "We the living". One side of the album is a long story told through a series of songs.
