One good thing that he has done for America was give Pink inspiration for her great song "Dear Mr. President." People say that we haven't been attacked since 911, well what an accomplishment considering there wasn't a successful attack before 911 since the civil war. Bush vetoes bills that can benefit the people of America and passes bills that hurt America. He is stubborn and arrogant and doesn't care about the future and well being of the U.S. Big business has Bush in there pocket. The economy is going down the toilet, because of him. This country will need some great presidents just to get us out of the hole bush has dug this country into. No child left behind is such a joke that the school in Texas where it originated decided to get rid of it. He has hurt the advancement of science because he refuses to allow stem cell research that can benefit many handicap. His policy's on Health care and jobs would be funny if it didn't hurt so many people. The only people that are laughing are him and his cronies and they are doing it all the way to the bank at the expense of hard working people. The only thing bush has done for this country is hurt it severely. Bush is the worst president in the history of America. He is an idiot. The people that support him are either idiots themselves, or they just don't care about the future of the US.

Well, you must first understand that the mainstream media is very much aligned with the political Left, so if Bush were walking around healing the sick they would report he was putting doctors out of work.
If you want balanced reporting try Fox News and if you want the view from the Right try Rush Limbaugh.
To be quite honest Bush is about as far to the right as Clinton was to the left, which is to say, not much. (JFTR unlike Bill & George, Hilliary is NOT a centrist.)
The top 3 things the Right thinks Bush has done good.
A) Helped to revive the ecomomy by lowering the tax rate.
B) Sucessfully prosecuted the war on terror.
C) Sucessfully removing Saddam Hussain from Iraq & preventing Islamic Jihadists from filling the power vacuum.
George Bush's steadfast commitment to Victory in Iraq lies in stark contrast to his political rivals commitment to American Defeat.

No Child Left Behind is a joke; all it does is call for exhaustive testing that proves nothing, doesn't provide any more funds schools that desperately need it; doesn't allow the arts to be taught because "they cost too much". What Bush has done is: steal the presidency, lie about Saddam having WMD; get us into a war so that his good buddies at Haliburton could make lots and lots of $$ (and if you don't think he's getting some $$ out of this, you're nuts). History always tells, and 30 years from now, he'll be in the history books as the president who made Nixon look better.

His most sucessful accomplishment was
Totally destroyed the GOP's chance of winning in 2008
Regarding No Child Left Behind-----FAILURE
No Child Left Behind not only is not working, but results in negative impacts up and down the educational continuum - from distorting educational experiences for our youngest to ensuring when they get to college, more students than ever will need remedial courses in reading and math.
In these cash-strapped times, it is a fact that No Child Left Behind has driven up costs in terms of administering exams, tutoring students, altering curriculum, increasing teacher dissatisfaction and turnover, as well as outsourcing education dollars to corporations that create further exams exacerbating the downward spiral.
Some states are spending additional sums seeking court judgments to force the federal government to pay these costs as unfunded mandates.
Add to this that two recent studies have put the lie to the Bush administration claim that No Child Left Behind is nonpartisan and that its principal objective - closing the achievement gap between whites and students of color - is being met.
The first study, by David Berliner at Arizona State University, establishes with exhaustive detail that poverty has a cumulative impact which so overwhelms all other interventions, that it is patently ridiculous to believe that public education alone - which occupies a mere 9 percent of a student's yearly life-experience - should be held culpable for such pervasive social disparities.
In fact, as witnessed during Hurricane Katrina, some gaps in life circumstances are so ingrained, intractable and profound that no amount of political grandstanding or public school bashing is enough to make them go away.
The second study, by Harvard researchers Gail Sunderman and Gary Orfield, shows that agreements negotiated by the Department of Education and individual states have created important differences in enforcement of No Child Left Behind, particularly in identifying which schools have met annual yearly progress goals. Such negotiated "deals" favor affluent suburban districts over the urban poor in terms of analyzing progress and what constitutes a highly qualified teacher.

As a Republican I have to tell you that this man is not fit for the job. He has more than proven that as he had with every single business venture he was involved in during his life. They were all failures. He is not very smart, he is arrogant and stubborn and is surrounded by some very evil minds ( Cheney, Rove, DeLey......etc...) Add to this that he did not show up all that often during his questionable military stint, was a falling down drunk and has a DWI to prove it, yet boldly declares wars and thrusts our brave men and women into harms way without even a competent plan! Yet many people of this country could not see through the scare tactics and lies and went and voted him into the highest office in the land!
NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND? Is that responder kidding? He has left them all behind and has added to that by vetoing every child health and education bill that has come his way.
What a terrible loss of time during this time of turmoil for this great country.

He helped INNOCENT Iraqis by deposing their leader without their asking and only killing a few thousand- you're welcome Iraq.
He stopped another terrorist attack like 9-11 from happening... and I know, even though one never happened like that before we all know without a doubt that his leadership alone prevented what only an idiot would say was a once in a lifetime event from happening in the last several years.
His tax cuts which mostly went to the top 1% certainly gave the rest of us to aspire to- that is being in the top 1% so we can crap all all the lesser humans (currently known as "us").
He totally showed Osama!!!
Taught us the dangers of pretzels.
Took more vacation then anyone else ever, showing all us highstrung workaholics (working fulltime+ to pay for healthcare) to relax.
Initiated No Child Left behind, which closes the gap between smart and dumb kids by dumbing down smart kids- no gap = successful education reform.
Lastly, Bush showed up that even a complete failure of a businessman former cocaine user who had everything silverspoonfed to him can make it in this world, no matter the odds!

Sometimes I believe I am at this site with nothing but children.
I can't believe some of the stupidity in the answers shown to this question.
There are so many good things done in the USA this past (almost) 7 years that it is difficult to think where to begin.
With taxes going down and the actual tax revenue going up. The last number for growth of the economy was 3.9%.
With all the negatives that Bush had to deal with, from 9-11 to actualy 3 different wars. Afganistan, Iraq , and the war on terror.
Then add in the nuclear crisis in N. Korea and Iran.
But the one thing Bush will be remembered for will be the change in the way the world deals with terrorism. For decades terrorism was looked at as a police problem, now its a military problem, and we are attacking back.

I don't think he did much except write checks for more bombs to "Shock & Awe" the innocent civilians of Iraq. I did see him play golf a whole lot and spend most of his time on his Texas ranch.
