Many people (at least in NY) send their non catholic kids to catholic school to receive an education that is cheaper then private school but better then public school. Do you think this is ok?
I am not catholic and I do not send my kids to catholic school so please do not direct your answers directly at me (sorry but I notice alot of answers do not actually answer the question, they just chew out the asker) Thanks.

No as long as the parents understand that their kids will be getting a Catholic schooling with Catholic views. It might confuse the kid when it's other peers all go to church with their families and he/she doesn't.

No.

Many non-Catholics go to Catholic schools.

In my opinion:

Catholic schools in the United States provide a very good moral and religious base for children. As a rule they are also safer than public schools.

Educationally, most of them are above average. Although some are exceptionally good and a very few are bad. Your school or the diocese should have some test scores for comparison.

In general, Catholic schools do a good job with average and above average kids.

However the resources of most Catholic schools in the United States are limited. If students need extra attention due to being way over or way under average, then their needs may not be properly met.

With love in Christ.

I do not see anything wrong with it. I am a pagan and my husband is agnostic. We seriously considered having her great grandfather sponsor her to a local Jewish school because of the quality of the education. We found another school that we liked as much so we did not go this route.

I believe that exposure to religions is important to the growth of a child. My daughter has a more Christian faith structure than I do, which is fine with me.

The only issue I would have with a non-catholic going to a catholic school is if they were to disrespect the religious beliefs of the school in ANY manner.

Sure, it's perfectly okay to send non-Catholic kids to Catholic school.

Generally, Catholic schools will give preference to parish kids, non-parish Catholic kids and then open up any available desks to non-Catholic students. But if the school has room and you are confident it's a good, safe education for your children, there is no reason not to send them to Catholic school.

I would not send my kinds to a bad public school, nor would I send them to a religious school. Look for a good private school, or take teaching your kids yourself into consideration.

Baptist friend that teaches at a Jewish
school. He isn't allowed to discuss religious
