Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney dismissed the suggestion that the Steelers were America's Team. 'We didn't want that,' Rooney said. 'We're a Pittsburgh team. We feel strongly about that'
When I think of the term "America's Team" I think of the Cowboys. They're not my team but that phrase was coined for them first back in 1979.
If I had to pick out of these 3 teams... my vote would go to the Packers. You can not go into any major city without finding a sports bar dedicated to the Packers.

Though, yes art rooney has once dismissed that term, I would have to say the steelers. They are family owned, which is the american dream. They represent a working class city, and are named for a working class job. Can you get more American? I would agree with the packers for the same reasons as working class. The cowboys, however would be the negative side of America. Big business ethics, loud, obnoxious players (T.O., Michael Irving, Deion Sanders just to name a few). Not to mention that Cowboys historically didn't do really anything like they are portrayed in westerns. They watched over cows, though honorable, not very flashy like fictionally displayed. Not to mention they are from the worst state ever.

I vote Cowboys. That has been their title since the 70's and cannot be changed. The fans of other teams need to come up with their own name and quit trying to take what the Cowboys have.
Cowboys are America's Team now and forever, whether you like it or not.

Let's face it, you've overlooked an obvious choice...the New England Patriots. They are a team which has built a dynasty despite the salary-cap by pulling together and making the whole more than the sum of the parts. What is more in line with American values than that? Added bonus: New England is where this independent nation began its break from England. Super added bonuses: The team is called the PATRIOTS and its mascot is a minuteman!

Why do you want to steel away something that was pinned by the media on a team like the Cowboys,is any team trying to steal the nickname from the Steelers Iron Curtain and I agree with Mark J,for a bunch of fans of other teams that dislike the Cowboys, they want everything the Cowboys have
